Hoping others can provide more practical insight - my field exposure is limited, since I mostly deliver training, help build course content & host webinars. However, here are some resources that can help explain:

SailPoint's Identity Security Cloud has a comprehensive and extensive capability of handling non-human identities through Machine Identity Security and AI Agent Security.

Machine Identity Security identifies machine accounts and creates application identities
AI Agent Security is used to manage agents that leverage Large Language Models (LLMs) to perform tasks on behalf of users or other systems

Agent Identity Security is such a new product offering, there are no official courses at this time. I recently delivered a webinar on Governing AI agents with Agent Identity Security, which may be interesting to your research.
