Start a conversation around your idea by posting it in either the IdentityIQ or IdentityNow forum. Explain your business problem and how the idea solves it. Encourage other users to chime in with similar experiences or solutions. Product Managers will periodically review and respond to these posts.

Product Managers may move idea posts out of the forum and into the Idea Exchange

Please note that ideas submitted to the forum or moved to the exchange does not guarantee implementation. Ideas are intended to encourage conversation to give Product Managers valuable insights on customer business problems, community interest in features, and feedback on roadmap items already planned.

How to Submit an Idea

Create a post in the forum that your idea applies to. Write out the business problem and how your idea would solve it.

Include as much detail as possible. Specify the product version you are using. If this idea applies to a connector, integration, a module or anything else, put that information in your post.

After writing your idea, click Post

Add the "Idea" tag to your post. Under your message, click Add Tags, and type out "Idea." Hit enter and the Idea tag will be added.

Create more tags to clarify what your idea applies to, but make sure to always have "Idea" as one of the tags. Use commas (,) between words and phrases when adding multiple tags. Example: Idea, Cerner Millenium, Health Care Integration.

Product Managers will periodically review and respond to posts with the Idea tag.

Writing Tips

  • Write a clear and descriptive title.
  • If you own multiple products and have access to both product forums, make sure you are in the appropriate forum for your idea.
  • Share as much information as you can share about the problem that you are seeing. Include important items like the product name, the area or feature you are referring to, the version and other approaches and suggestions that did not solve the problem.
  • Explain why this problem is important to you.
  • Propose an idea of a possible solution to your problem.
  • Don't forget the Idea tag!
  • Join in on the conversation that your post generates. Revisit your post often and make sure you are answering follow up questions from the community.
  • Refrain from being dismissive of the feedback that you may receive, instead use that opportunity to give more context and explain why this idea is important.
  • Visit other Idea posts or the Idea Exchange, and keep any eye out for similar problems and solutions.

Idea Exchange

Ideas that Product Management are researching and reviewing are in the Idea Exchange. These items include ideas that are moved from the forum.

You will see the title of the post prefaced with the word Moved and an image of a truck when an idea is moved from the forum.  This placeholder will let members know that your idea originated in the forum and was moved to the exchange. Authors will also be notified when their post is moved.

Once the idea is in the exchange, users can add comments and kudos. Product Managers will update the status of the idea accordingly.
