Github beta connector - Inviting users to org

I dont see anything obvious in the github beta connector for Creating or Inviting github users, or what fields to map across, so I wanted to ask:

1. Does this new github connector support inviting existing users into my Org (by username or by numeric ID)?
2, if not, how does it handle the "Create account" configuration?

Hi @sholinaty ,

In GitHub, users can only be invited/joined in the Organization once they created their own account. As an admin, I can not create an account for any user. Also, there is no such available ways to achieve it. Because of that, "Create account" is not supported in GitHub.

Inviting someone to join the GitHub org is a different operation as compared with "Create" and this is not supported.

In case there is some other information, additional query or use cases, feel free to reach out to us.

Thanks,

Dinesh

while not wrong, this seems like a fairly fundamental requirement of sailpoint declaring that it has a Custom Connector for github.

we ended up giving up on sailpoint's connector and simply implementing their REST APIs ourselves which was ridiculously simple.

Hi @sholinaty , whether you have implemented "create" operation using their REST API? Could you please point me to any available GitHub documentation or if you can share some details around it on this use case and your current implementation, that will be really helpful.

This is the GitHub Source documentation that is a part of SaaS connector closed beta program and now this connector will be GA in Q3'22. I would be happy to know the gaps or feedback on the supported features.

Thanks,

Dinesh
