Strong Authentication Methods

The following methods of strong authentication might be available to IdentityNow users, based on the configuration of the site:

Ask each timeThe system prompts you each time to choose between strong authentication methods
Text to work or alternate phone

The system sends a verification code to your device as a text message. These codes are valid for 10 minutes.

Some countries, including India, restrict automated text messages, including strong authentication messages. If you encounter this problem, choose another strong authentication method.

Call to work or alternate phone

The system sends a verification code to your device ​as a phone call. These codes are valid for 10 minutes.

Some countries, including China, restrict automated voice calls, including strong authentication calls. If you encounter this problem, choose another strong authentication method.

Send code to work or alternate emailThe system sends a link to your work or alternate email address​. These links are valid for 120 minutes.
Security questionsThe system prompts you with one or more questions that you chose and answered previously
Enter passwordThe system prompts you to re-enter your IdentityNow password.
Duo PushSends a request to your mobile device that you can use the Duo app to either accept or reject
Duo CallbackSends an automated phone call to your telephone that you can accept by pressing any key or reject by hanging up
Duo PasscodeRequests a passcode
RSA SecurIDThe system prompts you for an RSA SecurID
Symantec VIP PushSends a request to your mobile device that you can accept using the Symantec VIP Access app.
Symantec VIP Security CodeThe system prompts you for a Symantec VIP Security Code from any registered credential.
SafeNetThe system prompts you to enter a SafeNet passcode.
