How to: Labels and tags

Labels

The labels in the community are defined by SailPoint and are used to indicate the topic of your post. The labels you choose act as an overarching content theme in the community. When posting an article or a question, use labels to categorize your post in a high-level way, which will make it easier for other users to find.

Only the author can add and edit labels used in their post. Labels cannot be added to replies or comments.

Add a label to your post

Go to the Choose a Label section in the bottom-right corner and select the predefined label that best matches your question.

Tags

Tags are created and added by Compass users. You can add any tag you like to various types of content across the community, including posts, articles, comments, and replies. All Compass users have the ability to tag items.

Add a tag to your post

Begin by locate the Message Tags section below the Choose a Label area, then type in keywords that best match your question.

View content by a specific tag

Tag clouds appear in the Tags section on most Compass pages. The darker or bolder a word appears, the more frequently that tag is used.

To view content related to a specific tag, simply click the tag to see all associated items within that space.

Choose labels and tags thoughtfully - how you organize community content impacts how easily others can find and engage with it.
