Welcome to the SailPoint Community. This is a place to ask questions, share knowledge, exchange ideas, and learn from others across SailPoint’s identity security community.

Help us keep the SailPoint Community useful, welcoming, and respectful by following these guidelines.

Be respectful and constructive

Treat other community members with courtesy and respect, even when you disagree.

Focus on the topic and ideas being discussed rather than the person sharing them. Avoid personal attacks, harassment, offensive language, trolling, or other behavior that disrupts productive conversation.

When you disagree, share your perspective thoughtfully and help move the discussion forward. These expectations align with SailPoint’s standards for courtesy, etiquette, and productive participation.

Keep discussions helpful and on topic

Before creating a new topic, search the Community to see if the question or discussion already exists.

When participating:

  • Choose the most relevant forum and tags.

  • Keep replies relevant to the original topic.

  • Avoid posting the same content in multiple places.

  • Avoid excessive or repetitive posting.

  • Use the Like button instead of posting replies such as “+1” or “Agreed.”

Keeping discussions organized makes it easier for everyone to find useful information. SailPoint’s Community also prohibits disruptive, off-topic, excessive, and spam-related posting.

Help keep the SailPoint Community valuable

Use SailPoint Community features such as likes, bookmarks, replies, solutions, and flags to recognize helpful contributions and improve discussions.

When your question has been resolved, mark the helpful reply as the solution when available. This makes it easier for other community members with similar questions to find useful answers.

The conversations and resources we create together help shape the SailPoint Community experience for everyone.

Protect privacy and confidential information

Use care when sharing information in the SailPoint Community. Do not post confidential, proprietary, personal, or sensitive information that should not be shared as outlined by SailPoint Privacy Policy.

This includes:

  • Passwords, credentials, API keys, or authentication details

  • Personal contact information

  • Customer or employee information

  • Confidential company information

  • Private communications

  • Personal or identifying information about another person

Before sharing screenshots, logs, code, or configuration details, review them and remove any sensitive information.

Share content responsibly

Only post content that you created or have permission to share.

Do not post copyrighted, proprietary, or other third-party content without the appropriate permission. Do not share content or instructions intended to violate intellectual property rights, bypass security protections, gain unauthorized access, or violate applicable laws.

No spam or unsolicited promotion

Do not use the SailPoint Community for spam, repetitive posting, unsolicited advertising, promotional messages, junk mail, or other disruptive content.

Do not collect community members’ contact information to promote products or services without their consent.

Relevant links or recommendations may be appropriate when they directly contribute to the discussion, but the SailPoint Community should not be used primarily for advertising or promotion.

Use the appropriate support channel

The SailPoint Community is a place for discussion, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.

Do not use the SailPoint Community for discussions to report or escalate an individual SailPoint customer service issue. Issues related to a specific account, environment, or support case should be handled through the appropriate SailPoint support channels.

Flag content that needs attention

If you see content or behavior that may violate these guidelines, use the Flag feature to privately notify the moderation team.

Avoid engaging with inappropriate or disruptive behavior. Flagging the content allows moderators to review the situation and take appropriate action.

SailPoint Community members play an important role in helping moderators identify content or behavior that may need to be reviewed.

Moderation

SailPoint moderators may review, edit, move, or remove content when necessary to maintain the SailPoint Community and enforce applicable guidelines and terms as mentioned above.

Content or behavior that violates the SailPoint Community may result in restrictions, suspension, or termination of SailPoint Community access.

These SailPoint Community Guidelines work alongside the SailPoint Terms of Use, SailPoint Privacy Policy, and other applicable SailPoint policies.
