I have a problem about the configuration of a new Activity Monitor.
In the 8.3 FAM version, the procedure of creating a new Application is migrated entirely on the Business Website.
Following the steps in the guide "Integrating Windows Server with File Access Manager “, after setting up the windows file server application and configuring the activity monitor, the next step is to configure the monitored actions via a button in the " Admin > Application > Manage Resource” section and click on Manage Monitored Actions.
It is precisely this action that I cannot do because no button or section named Manage Monitored Actions appears. So I’m not able to figure out how to specify the folder on which to collect activities and how to perform "Monitored Actions ".
Probably your application is set to “Store the activity (Full Auto-Learning Mode)” in app config page. In that case, this menu doesn’t show in “Manage Resources” window.
@piotrpacholski is right. The default option for activity monitoring is “Store the Activity (Full Auto learning mode” . This means the activity monitor captures all events from all folders regardless it was crawled or not via the crawler.
If you want to restrict what you want to monitor, you can specify it in the Monitoring Exclusions section (Exclude File Extensions, Exclude Folders, Exclude users).
Earlier version of FAM had a activity monitoring mode called (discard mode). If you set the monitor to this mode, you will have to manually select the folders that you want the agent to monitor. This mode was deprecated in the latest version. The documentation will have to be updated to reflect this. I will reach out to the concerned department at SailPoint to get that updated. We apologize for the confusion.
