Environment Information Report - throws UnsupportedClassVersionError for OracleDriver

When I’m running the Environment Information Report, it fails with the below error.  I checked the server and confirmed it is on openJDK version 1.8.0_362 which matches up the version 52.0.

What I’m failing to understand is where this OracleDriver compiles on 54.0 is even coming from?  We’re using MSSQL backend and I wasn’t able to find any Oracle reference on our server.  Is this just a part of SailPoint and can I remove it?  We are currently on 8.3.

An unexpected error occurred: java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: oracle/jdbc/driver/OracleDriver has been compiled by a more recent version of the Java Runtime (class file version 54.0), this version of the Java Runtime only recognizes class file versions up to 52.0 (unable to load class [oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver])

Hi  @jasonwu  ,

Please check the JAR file placed in the /lib folder.

This error may not be coming as a result of a database check, but may be related to an Oracle based application. The most likely suspect would be an Oracle based JDBC application which has a driver specified.

You might also check to see if you have the above configured, which jar file do you have in place for the application? In 8.3, there are 2 locations for the jar files, as the connector libraries are split out. In the OOTB IIQ_HOME\WEB-INF\lib\, there should not be any ojdbcx.jar files if you are not using an Oracle database.

If you are using an Oracle based application, there are jar files OOTB in IIQ_HOME\WEB-INF\lib-connectors\dbRequired3rdParty\, and this contains ojdbc8.jar in 8.3. So, you may check to see if there was an older Oracle jar file copied over from a previous installation into IIQ_HOME\WEB-INF\lib\, and that is causing the error.

I ran this report out of the box on my 8.3p2 environment, and it does not throw the same error. If you are using an “old” version of the report, you might also try creating a new Environment Information Report from the current template, just in case there were updates to the report compared to your previously saved task definition.
