We are getting a single instance of the sharepoint online and customer doesn’t have seperate instances for dev and prod.
Is it possible to create a single site in Sharepoint and use it as a dev instance that can be connected from DEV FAM server?
What risks are involved in this case? Also please tell me, can. I use similar approach for OneDrive online where there is no dedicated dev environment.
I recommend you to connect to the SharePoint online tenant with crawler exclusions setup. With this, when you run the crawl in your dev environment, FAM will exclude all the remaining sites and only scan the one that is of your interest.
Remember if you are trying to test activity monitoring, you will have to add exclusions and/or discard rules to remove activities from the sites that you excluded in the crawl.
