Which database SQL script would run for an existing database with sp iiq v8.4p1 deployment?

I inherited sp iiq v8.3p3 podman/docker container which has been interacting MS SQL database.

I want to stop this container and deploy v8.4p1 container. This would interact with existing database rather than building new one.

I read v8.4 would add 3rd database on top of two.

  • identityiq
  • identityiqPlugin
  • identityiqah <-- 3rd db name

In this scenario, my guess is update_identityiq_tables-8.4p1.sqlserver script would run instead of create_identityiq_tables-8.4.sqlserver.

Am I in the right direction? I am going to create a script to automate standing up v8.4p1 sp iiq and I need to decide which sql script to execute. I’d appreciate your advice on this.

Run both scripts. If table already exists it won’t be modified. Just make your client continue on errors

When I posted this question, I was not fully understanding DB upgrade.  Please bear with me.

I think I have to run following upgrade sql scripts in order to upgrade aforementioned three databases.  Going from v8.3p3 to v8.4p1.

upgrade_identityiq_tables.sqlserver --> upgrade_identityiq_tables.8.4p1.sqlserver

I think 1st sql script would insert newly introduced identityiqac database and tables belong to.

If you spot any misunderstanding from my end, could you kindly enough to remind me? Thank you!

The correct upgrade path is 8.3p3 → 8.4 → 8.4p1
