SCIM 2.0 SaaS Connector

SCIM 2.0 SaaS Connector

The SCIM (System for Cross-Domain Identity Management) standard defines a schema and API to create, read, update identity and identity-related information on other systems. This standard creates a common language, by which a client system can communicate with many different servers in the same way. SaaS providers (such as Salesforce) and other software vendors are beginning to adopt this standard, and are exposing their identity management interfaces through SCIM.

The SailPoint SCIM 2.0 SaaS is a SaaS connector that has been developed through SaaS Platform Connectivity, which is next-generation pure SaaS Connectivity that doesn't require any Virtual Appliance (VA).

We do have a SCIM 2.0 Connector as a part of VA based connectivity that you can also use as per your requirement and functionalities. Refer "Notes" Section for more detail on it.

Notes

  • SailPoint is also continuously to investing in the existing VA based SCIM 2.0 Connector. If you are trying to integrate with internal developed SCIM API system that is not compliant with SCIM RFC, or using product standard APIs, or if there is a need for firewall settings with VA configuration as per your network configuration; you can choose the path of VA-based connector.
  • There is no restriction while selecting any SCIM 2.0 Source whether it is VA based or VA less. It is up to your choice and requirement to select between these 2 sources.
  • There are some differences between these two sources with respect to the functionalities and use cases, please do refer the connector guide to find more detail on it.
