What is a Knowledge Credential?
A knowledge credential is a new type of digital badge you can earn, confirming that you have successfully learned and acquired new knowledge or skills by completing a SailPoint Identity University training path AND by passing a multiple choice exam.
The Knowledge Credential enables you to showcase to your professional network how you are progressing your identity security knowledge and skills. It shows employers that you are a proactive professional keeping up with the rapid evolution of the identity security industry as well as SailPoint innovations.
What is the difference between a Knowledge Credential and a Professional Certification?
Knowledge Credentials are designed for professionals with little to no experience with identity security. They are perfect for people who are just starting their identity security careers, who want to showcase their professional development and learning progression while giving employers and business leaders greater confidence in their identity security knowledge. A Knowledge Credential confirms that you have successfully learned knowledge or skills acquired through training.
SailPoint Professional Certifications are SailPoint’s most rigorous accreditation exams intended for identity security professionals with at least 1 year of practical SailPoint experience. A Professional Certification validates you have successfully demonstrated applied skills to perform an employable job. It tests practical experience, not training knowledge.
Introducing the Identity Security Leader Knowledge Credential!
The Identity Security Leader training path covers foundational, industry-centric topics including launching your identity security career, exploring the evolution of identity security, planning your identity security strategy, charting a successful implementation journey, and more. The courses focus on vendor-agnostic skills to strengthen professionals’ knowledge industry-wide, regardless of their platform of choice, in an effort to improve identity security best practices.
With the introduction of the Identity Security Leader Credential, SailPoint’s first Knowledge Credential, SailPoint is establishing a new accreditation program to attract new professionals to the field of identity security.
How do I earn my Identity Security Leader Knowledge Credential?
The Identity Security Leader Credential is earned by completing the Identity Security Leader training path and passing a credential exam through SailPoint’s Identity University. The Identity Security Leader training path, comprised of 4.5 hours of vendor-agnostic, industry-focused subject matter, enables participants to enhance their identity security expertise as they keep pace in the rapidly evolving technology and threat landscape.

How do I become an Identity Security Leader?
Step 1: Register for the Identity Security Leader training path on Identity University If you do not have an Identity University account, you can create this for free here.
Step 2: Complete all the training in the Identity Security training leader path on Identity University. These training completions are required to unlock the exam.
Step 3: Unlock the Identity Security Leader Knowledge Credential exam.
Step 4: When ready to take the exam by clicking the launch button to begin (no scheduling required). Upon launching this exam, you will start it immediately online.
Step 5: Take the exam within the 45 minute time limit (this exam is open book, not proctored). Please note that once you begin this exam, you CANNOT pause the exam nor save and come back to it. You must complete this exam in one sitting.

What happens after I complete the exam?
Upon successfully passing the credential exam, you will earn the Identity Security Leader Knowledge Credential, which will be awarded as a digital badge through Identity University. You will be able to share your digital badge on your LinkedIn profile using #identitysecurityleader, where others can click on the badge and validate your credential’s validity and authenticity. Once earned, the Knowledge Credential is valid forever and never expires.
