Do you allow partial credits?
Unfortunately, we cannot accept partial credit. Each training course must be at least 30 minutes to earn credit towards recertification, and credits get rounded up to the nearest whole number. Does any of the SailPoint free training or introductory training qualify?
Unfortunatelty, we cannot accept introductory or free training as qualifying activities for the SailPoint Recertification Program. Although taking these courses is great for establishing foundational knowledge, the completion will not qualify towards recertification credit hours.
How long do I have to complete the necessary credit hour requirements prior to recertification?
All SailPoint recertification credit hours should be acquired prior to the expiration date of each certification exam. Please note, the number of recertification credits is based off a 2-year period and can only be used to renew one certification exam within a 4-year timeframe.
What can I do if I have multiple certification exams that I want to recertify?
Each recertification requires a total of 80 credit hours. Those looking to recertify more than one exam (example Engineer & Admin) will be required to obtain an additional 40 credits within prior to the expiration of that certification exam, as well as paying an additional $200 recertification fee.
What qualifies as hands-on project hours?
Hands-on project hours are the time you spend actively working on a SailPoint technical project or solution. This includes hands-on work that supports planning, building, configuring, testing, deploying, or improving a solution in a real SailPoint environment.

How do I submit my hands-on project hours to SailPoint?
We kindly ask that you submit all hands-on project hours to our team here. Please ensure you fill out all information on the form and select the SailPoint Certification Program as they request type and the project hours as the certification program request type. The form will populate required fields including the contact information of the manager or customer for whom you worked on the project with/for.
How do you validate hands-on project hours?
The Identity University team personally reviews, tracks, and verifies all hands-on project hours submitted. You will not receive an immediate response upon submitting your project hours. If there are any questions regarding your submission, the Identity University team will reach out to you for further information.
