Welcome, from Paul Patti!

Hello and welcome to the Identity University - Identity Security Cloud forum! My name is Paul Patti and I'm one of the Technical Advocates here at SailPoint that teaches instructor-led training classes online and on-site.

My main focus is Identity Security Cloud, and I also teach IdentityIQ File Access Manager. My background includes mainframe, network packet analysis, performance, storage, Apache Kafka development, and virtual data centers - and I look forward to sharing that experience with you!

But just as much, I also look forward to learning with you and from you - as change is the only sure thing for us going forward.

So when you have questions, please feel free to post them here and I'll do my best along with our expert Compass Community to help you find an answer. Cheers!

Shadab, apologies and please ignore my previous post!

Your connection isn’t working because you’re probably using the wrong lab guide. Please login to Identity University and access the student materials that are associated with your tenant, and follow the instructions in the lab guide provided there. Your connection will be to the Directory (Open LDAP) source.

Please do not hesitate to let me know if you have any issues doing so – or anytime you may have further questions.

As discussed, need your help regarding JDBC source. I am following the document from Boot camp to create JDBC source. However, I am getting error message when I do the test connectionerror message JDBC.pngAccount settings JDBC.png

Hello @spebari and thank you for investing your valuable time attending today's session! First thing I should ask, is this Identity Security Cloud or Identity IQ?

No matter which, from your attached screen captures the issue appears to be network related. It could be anything from an IP addressing/subnet issue to the VM itself where the JDBC database lives.

If this is ISC, one thing you can try is removing the jdbc:mysql at the beginning of the Database URL field. If that doesn't work, please raise an issue at Training-help@sailpoint.com as they will have the visibiity to troubleshoot why your connector can't connect to the JDBC database on its VM.

If you don't hear back within 24 hours (should be a lot quicker than that), plesae don't hesitate to let me know and I will ensure you get assisted further.

Hi Paul,

Hope you are doing well!

Thank you very much for your response. This is ISC Tenant, and I was trying to configure JDBC source.
Sure! I will try to make to make the changes in the URL and try again.

Regards,
Shadab Bepari
