I am enrolled in the IdentityIQ Essentials course and am half-way through the exercises in my VM. I was working in my VM successfully up through Friday 10/17.
On Tuesday 10/21, I launched my VM for the first time since Friday 10/17 and am experiencing issues. I can login and navigate, but I can’t see any data. For example, when I navigate to Identity Warehouse, it states that 235 identifies are being displayed, but no identities are actually displayed. I have a similar experience displaying applications and tasks (i.e., the counts appear to be accurate, but no data is displayed).
I know there was a service outage on Monday. I'm not sure if that would've had any effect.
I submitted a ticket, and the Support team directed me here. This is a lengthy course, and I'd hate to have to start over from scratch with a new VM given the exercises are cumulative.
Any ideas? Thanks!
I hadn't started Exercise 3.4 given the inability to see items displayed in multiple tables (i.e., wanted to address the broader issue first since there are several exercises left to complete).
In response to your question, I did just now search for Richard.Jackson and can see only that one row.
I had confirmed on Friday (reference my Friday comments) that it's definitely a sizing issue and that at most I can only see one row displayed in the table list, with no ability to scroll to see rows.
On Friday 10/17, everything was working fine. When I logged back in on Tuesday 10/21, scroll ability for the VM and IIQ browser window were gone. I hadn't explicitly changed anything in the VM to adjust resolution to full screen on my tiny laptop (not on purpose anyway).
I checked the VM again just now and found the resolution option at the top of the screen and set it to 1920x1080. I swear I checked that last week to get out of full screen mode. Anyway, I now have scroll ability again and was able to resize all the tables and am able to work again, so this issue is resolved.
Thanks for your help!
Hello Ramona,
There are 2 things I would like you try:
1. On the desktop of the VM there are shortcuts for Stopping Tomcat and Starting Tomcat. Please Stop Tomcat and then Start Tomcat, wait for a couple of minutes and then access the IIQ UI.
If that doesn't work...
2. On the desktop of the VM there is a Lab Reset icon that allows you to reset the lab environment to the lesson that you are on, which will include everything that will have been completed in the previous labs.
I just confirmed that the issue is a table resizing thing as I was able to make the table a smidge bigger - enough to see 1 row of data. How do I get a scroll bar on the VM and/or the UI so I can expand the table and/or scroll through the list of items? Thanks!
An additional observation... There's a sliver of space between the column headings and the row at the bottom of the tables (i.e., the bottom row that reflects the total number of objects in the table). If I click in that seemingly empty space between the table header and footer, an application opens (I was on the Application Definition page at the time). It's as though the window/table needs to be expanded in order to visibly see all the entries between the table header and footer. In other words, I wasn't really clicking on empty space, but rather the application that appeared in that sliver but was mostly hidden from view. It was the "Bug" application that opened. Thinking the "Bug" application is probably first in the list alphabetically, and the sliver of space correlated to the top of the display list.
I did a search on "Time" for that application. Nothing changed in my view (i.e., no rows displayed in the table), but when I clicked in that seemingly empty space, the "Time" application opened. This implied the filter worked and put the "Time" application at the top of the display list. So when I clicked on the sliver of space, it once again opened the first application in the display list.
So it looks like the data is all there and kind of being displayed... and it's more an issue of changing the sizing of the table so I can see the list. I tried to resize the table, but the VM window appears to be locked in size and doesn't have a scroll bar like I had last week. The locked VM window size seems to be what's preventing me from resizing the table. Thoughts on how to overcome this? Thanks!
My question is this: Have you tried looking for Richard.Jackson in the Identity Warehouse as the lab guide instructs?... It seems like it may be an issue with sizing and your screen resolution at this point and am just trying to see how to get you through the exercise.

Thank you for these suggestions. I tried both as follows:
Neither of these worked. I still see the same thing, which is that the counts appear to be accurate, but the data isn't displayed. Any other suggestions?
Thanks for your help!
I just submitted a ticket at the link you provided, and I received an email from Education Services in response. This was the same sender who responded to my original ticket (which I had submitted via email vs. a ticket portal). They directed me here. This is what they told me in response to my original ticket:
So I'm anticipating the ticket I just submitted will elicit the same response. Any thoughts? I'd like to avoid having to start over. Thanks!
@RamonaBalke1 sounds like an endless loop - please hold on while I locate a human who will be able to help you.
Bless you!!!
@RamonaBalke1 no worries and happy to help. At the end of the day we want you to be sucessful!
That's in process now, and someone should be reaching out to you shortly.
Thanks so much! I really appreciate it!
Thanks! I'll give that a try. I appreciate the help!
@RamonaBalke1, sorry to hear of your issues - you should be able to open a ticket with the Education Support team (different than SailPoint's Product Support team) at this link. If you're still having trouble, please post again to let the community know,
