Follow this step-by-step guide to get the most of Identity University. Each step outlines our best training recommendations, tips, and resources. Complete the key actions at the end of each section to set you up for success in the next phase of your journey.

Identity University is SailPoint's comprehensive training platform, designed to empower individuals and organizations to become experts in identity security. Identity University offers an array of learning opportunities tailored to different skill levels and learning preferences. It is open to the public, but access to the full course catalog, including advanced training and certification paths, is exclusively available to SailPoint licensed customers and partners.
Whether you're just starting your journey or are an experienced professional looking to enhance your expertise, Identity University provides:
- eLearning Courses: Self-paced modules designed for convenient, on-demand learning.
- Instructor-Led Classes: Interactive, expert-led training sessions for in-depth learning and hands-on practice.
- Certification Exams: Industry-recognized certifications to validate your skills and advance your career.

Whether you're a current customer, considering SailPoint, or looking to build your identity security skillset, we suggest everyone start off with our foundational courses. Our Identity Security Leader path is completely free and open to the public. After you complete the training, take the exam and earn your Identity Security Leader Credential. Showcase your achievement on LinkedIn with the hashtag #IdentitySecurityLeader so we can congratulate you!
Step 3 and beyond is tailored to the needs of current SailPoint customers and partners to support their ongoing projects and training goals. This training path provides aspiring security leaders and practitioners an overview of the identity security industry, including access management and governance. Learn the language of identity security and get an introduction to SailPoint's Identity Security Cloud solutions. Pass the exam for a chance to earn the Identity Security Leader credential.

Congratulations! You're now a SailPoint customer and you're ready to kick off your project. Training team members at this stage is key to the success of your project implementation.
Projects involving untrained team members can result in delays of up to 160 hours. We strongly encourage that at least 2 team members are trained through the Identity Security Administrator training path before your go-live date to meet project deadlines.
Action: Complete the Identity Security Administrator path. Hone the skills needed to implement and administer SailPoint Identity Security Cloud effectively. Completing this training path ensures you're well-prepared for your implementation, equipped with the knowledge to manage your identity security program confidently and achieve long-term success. It's an essential step toward empowering your team.

Action: Explore SailPoint's catalog. All on-demand courses are available with an active eLearning subscription.
